- Ethylene Plant 1 started commercial operation in April 1980 with the introduction of Lummus Technology. This Plant is cracking Naphtha with Steam into Light Hydrocarbon Compounds at a high temperature in excess of 800℃, and quenches, compresses and fractionates the Products to produce Ethylene, Propylene, Mixed C4s, Pyrolysis Gasoline, etc.
