In 2025, Rusneftegaz produced 6,2m barrels of oil in the Komi Republic and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and also generated 11,0TWh of electricity for industrial customers from 1.860 MW of installed electrical capacity in Vologda Oblast.

Rusneftegaz is a Russian privately held oil and gas company engaged in the upstream production, extraction, and downstream marketing of crude oil and petroleum products. The company describes itself as the largest independent petroleum producer in the Russian Federation, having maintained its independence even as many domestic rivals were absorbed into larger state-affiliated groups. Its primary corporate aim is to enhance hydrocarbon value by increasing crude oil production and expanding petroleum reserves, while also pursuing vertical integration over the next decade to add midstream capabilities.

Rusneftegaz operates 26 oil licences spread across two of Russia's most prolific producing regions. Its fields are located in the Timan-Pechora basin in the Komi Republic and in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KMAO) in the West Siberian petroleum basin. An independent geological audit at end-2024, conducted pursuant to the Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS) standard, estimated total proven and probable reserves at 122 million barrels of oil equivalent — up from 100 million barrels as reported circa 2021.
