Alfanar Projects is managing a SAF project in Teesside. Alfanar Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF) project is in Teesside on the site of the failed Air Products Plasma Gasification Waste to Power project. Currently a brownfield site, it will be repurposed for the new SAF refinery, which is progressing through the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of development. The site currently has the benefit of a number of established utility connections, including a National Grid connection. Using non-recyclable waste and waste biomass as the feedstock LGF will produce advanced second generation SAF with 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional fossil-derived jet fuel
