The Cressier Refinery is currently the only operating refinery in Switzerland and accounts for approximately 25 percent, by volume, of all refined products sold nationally. Crude oil supply arrives through the SPSE pipeline from the marine shipping terminal in Fos-sur-Mer in the South of France. Light and middle distillates, such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel refined here are sold mainly to the Swiss market. Products are dispatched from truck-loading racks and railcar-loading facilities. This site is an integrated atmospheric-vacuum distillation, visbreaking and thermal cracking refinery. It's able to process sweet crude oil and a smaller amount of sour crude oil. The Cressier Refinery has a Nelson Complexity of 6.4.
