Torrance Refining Company LLC is the operating entity of the ~155,000–166,000 bpd Torrance refinery in the Los Angeles basin, acquired from ExxonMobil in 2016. The refinery produces CARB-compliant gasoline and diesel for the Southern California market and operates under heightened regulatory scrutiny following the 2015 electrostatic precipitator explosion (pre-acquisition) and subsequent flaring events. It is the named permittee on the refinery's environmental permits and regulatory filings.
