CITGO Petroleum Corporation is a U.S.-based company specializing in the refining, transportation, and marketing of petroleum products, including motor fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, and other industrial products. It operates three large, complex refineries located in Lake Charles (Louisiana), Lemont (Illinois), and Corpus Christi (Texas), giving it one of the largest refining capacities in the United States.

CITGO Petroleum is a direct subsidiary of CITGO Holding, Inc., which is in turn owned by PDV Holding, all ultimately controlled by Venezuela’s state oil company, PDVSA. Despite its Venezuelan ownership, CITGO Petroleum is incorporated in Delaware, with its principal operational headquarters in Houston, Texas.

The company markets CITGO-branded gasoline through thousands of independent retail outlets across the United States and supplies fuels, lubricants, and petrochemicals to a mix of consumer, commercial, and industrial customers. It is also known for a strong public presence and social responsibility initiatives in the communities where it operates.
