National Oil Corporation (NOC) is Libya's state-owned national oil company, established on November 12, 1970.

As Libya's largest employer, NOC manages the country's entire oil and gas sector with over 65,000 workers across 24 subsidiaries. The corporation controls all aspects of Libya's petroleum industry including exploration, production, refining, and marketing.

NOC is wholly owned by the Libyan government and operates as the custodian of Libya's oil wealth, overseeing production that currently averages around 1.2 million barrels per day.

Headquartered in Tripoli, NOC's principal subsidiaries include:

  • Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO)
  • Sirte Oil Company (SOC)
  • Zueitina Oil Company (ZOC)
  • Waha Oil Company, and RASCO (Ra's Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company).

The corporation partners with international oil companies through production-sharing agreements and joint ventures, serving as Libya's sole representative in OPEC.
