Golden Triangle Polymers Company LLC is a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (51%) and an indirect subsidiary of QatarEnergy (49%), formed to develop and operate a world-scale integrated polymers complex in Orange, Texas. The complex, often referred to as the Golden Triangle Polymers Project or USGC2, centers on a large ethane cracker supplying feedstock to high-density polyethylene (HDPE) units, targeting global polyethylene demand while leveraging advantaged ethane from U.S. shale basins. Headquartered in Orange and named for the Golden Triangle region (Orange, Beaumont, Port Arthur), the company emphasizes local economic impact, job creation, and modern, energy-efficient technology expected to reduce greenhouse gas intensity compared with similar facilities.
