At the Europark in Coevorden (NL), the construction of the biogas plant of Bio Energy Coevorden (BEC) started in summer 2017. Here, biomassa is converted into biomethane on a large scale. BEC uses the best available practices and technologies. BEC will supply 26 million cubic meters of biomethane annually to the Dutch natural gas grid. This is more than all households in the municipality of Coevorden consume annually. In addition, the plant produces valuable fertilizers that are reused in agriculture.
