Description

Hydrotreated atmospheric residuum is a heavy petroleum fraction produced through high-pressure catalytic hydrotreating of atmospheric residue. The process achieves:

Process Details

The hydrotreating is conducted in fixed-bed reactors using:

  • Catalysts containing combinations of Cobalt, Nickel, Molybdenum, or Tungsten supported on alumina
  • Guard reactor beds to remove metals and protect main catalysts
  • Severe operating conditions requiring high hydrogen partial pressures
  • Multiple reactor stages for different treatment objectives

  • Feedstock for FCC/RFCC units
  • Feed for hydrocracking or delayed coking units
