Description

In the context of the chlor-alkali process, depleted brine is a brine solution with a lower salt concentration than the saturated or nearly saturated brine fed to the electrolytic cell[1], which is about 24% by weight of potassium hydroxyde (KCl)[1].

The depleted, or spent KCl Brine is a lower concentrated brine solution compared with the saturated solution fed to the electrolyzer as shown in the table below[2].
