Description

Jubilee crude is a light sweet crude oil produced from Ghana's offshore Jubilee field, located approximately 60 kilometers off the country's western coast in water depths ranging from 875 to 1,515 meters. The crude has an API gravity of 37.4-37.6°, classifying it as light crude, with a density of 0.837 kg/l at 15°C and specific gravity of 0.838 at 60/60°F.

Quality Specifications

Jubilee crude contains 0.3% sulfur by weight, qualifying it as sweet crude oil, with very low vanadium (1.9 ppm) and nickel (3 ppm) content. The crude has a Total Acid Number (TAN) of 0.05 mgKOH/g, indicating minimal acidity, and viscosity of 4.6 cSt at 40°C. Water and sediment content are both below 1%, minimizing microbial growth potential and reducing fouling risks.

Production Characteristics

Wells in the Jubilee field demonstrate deliverability exceeding 20,000 barrels of oil per day, with the field representing a large continuous accumulation in a highly productive and well-connected reservoir. The field contains gross booked reserves of 490 million barrels of oil and an associated gas resource of approximately 800 billion cubic feet. Production commenced in 2010 using an FPSO vessel converted from a single-hulled VLCC originally built in 1991.
