In early November 2024, the expert review meeting for the general layout plan of the epoxy resin integration project (Phase I) of Shaanxi Yuneng Energy Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd. was held in Yulin, Shaanxi Province.

The first phase of the project has passed the filing approval, and the total construction period is about 30 months.

The main units of the project include:

• an 800,000 tons/year methanol to propylene (DMTP) unit,
• a 125,000 tons/year allyl chloride unit,
• a 150,000 tons/year epichlorohydrin unit,
• a 200,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide unit,
• a 300,000 tons/year isopropylbenzene unit,
• a 350,000 tons/year phenol acetone unit,
• a 240,000 tons/year bisphenol A unit,
• a 250,000 tons/year epoxy resin unit,
• a 100,000 tons/year high-salt wastewater purification unit,
• a 100,000 tons/year polyolefin elastomer (POE) unit,
• a 30,000 tons/year ethylene propylene rubber unit,
• and supporting public works and auxiliary projects.

It is worth noting that this project is the world's first epoxy resin and downstream full industrial chain project with coal-based methanol as the source. It will rely on the existing coal-to-methanol industry and chlor-alkali industry in the park to open up a new route for epoxy resin, and deeply integrate with traditional chlor-alkali chemical industry and coal chemical industry to realize mutual supply of raw materials.

Project Progress

• Early Nov 2023: Expert review meeting for the general layout plan of the epoxy resin integrated project (Phase I) of Shaanxi Yulin Energy Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd. was held in Yulin, Shaanxi Province.
• 15^th May 2024: the signing ceremony for the project’s general institute, general design and public auxiliary infrastructure engineering design was held in Tianjin.
• 27^th Jul 2024: the signing ceremony of the process package contract for the methanol to propylene (DMTP) combined unit of the project (Phase I) was held in Yulin.
• 26^th-28^th Aug 2024: the PFD review meeting for the project's 300,000 tons/year cumene unit, the kick-off meeting for the process package of the 350,000 tons/year phenol acetone and 240,000 tons/year bisphenol A units, as well as the kick-off meeting for the basic engineering design of the cumene, phenol acetone and bisphenol A units were held at China National Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd.
• 4^th Sep 2024: the kick-off meeting for the process package and basic engineering design of the EPDM rubber unit of the project (Phase I) was held at Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as: Beijing Petrochemical Engineering).
