Description

The facility is a major polypropylene (PP) resin production site, utilizing Spheripol technology licensed from Montell (now LyondellBasell), for manufacturing of a wide range of PP grades under the Masplene® brand, tailored to various industrial and consumer needs.

The plant's primary raw material, high-purity propylene gas, is sourced directly from the Pertamina Refinery Unit VI (RU-VI) in Balongan, Juntinyuat, ensuring a stable and reliable feedstock supply.

Plant capacity:

  • Initial capacity (1995): 100,000 metric tons per year (MT/year).
  • Expanded to 180,000 MT/year in 1996, 200,000 MT/year in 2004, 240,000 MT/year in 2008, and 260,000 MT/year in 2018.
  • As of the end of 2019, the plant reached a maximum installed capacity of 300,000 MT/year.

The plant is organized into specialized process areas, including:

  • Area 700: Propylene feed purification (removal of light gases such as ethane and CO₂)
  • Area 100: Catalyst preparation
  • Area 200: Polymerization
  • Area 300: Separation
  • Area 500: Drying
  • Area 600: Blowdown
  • Areas 800 & 5000: Molding
  • Area 900: Packaging
  • Utility Area: Supporting plant operations (source)

The manufacturing site operates under multiple international standards and certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, Halal certification, SNI, and a high Domestic Component Level Certificate (TKDN 81%)
