The Rozenburg facility has been a cornerstone of INVISTA’s European nylon 6,6 operations since the late 20th century.

Key activities include:

• Production of nylon 6,6 polymer (polyamide 6,6), the primary output of the site.
• Manufacture of polyamide salt (nylon salt), synthesized from adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine (HMD), which is then polymerized on-site.
• Supply of both reinforced and unreinforced polyamide polymers under the Torzen® brand to plastics manufacturers and downstream converters.

In 2013, INVISTA completed a major expansion with the commissioning of a polyamide (nylon) salt production plant, integrating upstream feedstock supply with on-site polymerization. The expansion aimed to enhance supply security and responsiveness for European fiber and plastics customers, marking a significant milestone in the site’s evolution as a fully integrated nylon 6,6 production hub.

The facility is fully integrated, covering the conversion of chemical intermediates (adipic acid and HMD) into nylon salt, polymerization into nylon 6,6, and compounding for various end-use applications. This integration ensures a secure, local supply of critical intermediates and finished polymer for European automotive, electrical, electronics, industrial, and consumer markets.
