- Description

The Orange site was originally established by DuPont and became part of INVISTA following Koch Industries’ acquisition of DuPont’s textile and interiors division in 2004.
Activities
- The site was globally significant for adiponitrile (ADN) production, a precursor for nylon 6,6 polymer and fibers. It accounted for up to 17% of global ADN capacity as of 2022, with a nameplate capacity of approximately 516,500 tonnes per year. ADN production ceased in 2024.
- Hexamethylene Diamine (HMD), another key intermediate for nylon 6,6, continues to be produced at Orange as of late 2024, following the cessation of ADN production.
- The site also previously produced adipic acid, but this unit with a nameplte capacity of 220,000 tonnes per year was closed in 2015 due to declining demand.
