Description

Based on LC-FINING Technology Reactor Platform, LC-SLURRY Heavy Oil Hydroprocessing Technology converts nearly 100% of Heavy Oils/Solvent Deasphalting (SDA) tar to high-value Products by operating under similar Reactor temperature and pressure. LC-SLURRY utilizes a highly active, ultra-fine, proprietary Bimetallic ISOSLURRY® Catalyst that is recycled and recovered in the Process. The Catalyst has high Pore Volumes to capture Feed Metals and Coke Precursors eliminating Fouling concerns associated with other Catalyst or Additive Systems.

The LC-SLURRY Flow Scheme is very similar to LC-FINING’s. Major differences are that with LC-SLURRY there is Continuous Slurry Catalyst Injection into the Feed and Separation of the Spent Catalyst from the Heaviest Liquid Product.

The major benefits to using this Catalyst include Feed flexibility (allowing the Process to handle the most difficult Residues), and excellent Unconverted Residue quality, while offering stable Conversion. From extensive Pilot Plant testing on various Heavy Residues in CLG’s Laboratories, LC-SLURRY has consistently demonstrated up to 115 vol% Liquid Yield and up to 75 vol% Euro V Diesel (after VGO ISOCRACKING Technology), with no undesirable low-value Streams since the Process suppresses the formation of Coke.

Unconverted Residue (Heavy Oil Stream) can also be upgraded to ULSFO (<0.5 wt% sulfur) or high-quality RFCC Feed. This is due to full Separation of the Spent Catalyst from the Heavy Oil Stream.
