Generic TDA Process
Short Name
Light Ends Column
Description
Low Boiling Products, or Light Ends, are removed as a gaseous Overhead Stream from the Light Ends Separation Column. Although these Light Ends come off as the Separation Column as Gases because of the high temperature employed in the Distillation, they quickly condense to Liquids (their natural state) on contact with the surrounding lower temperatures. This Stream contains primarily Toluenediamine and Toluidines, but also Aniline and Water. After Light Ends removal, the TDA Stream is sent to the Vicinals Separation Column.
