- Description
- When the Phosgenation has been completed, the excess Phosgene is removed. Initially the Phosgene, which is present as vapor, is vented from the Reaction Mixture, together with any Hydrogen Chloride, which has been formed. The bulk of the Phosgene is removed by Distillation using various types of Stripping Vessels. The Stripping is carried out at atmosphere pressure, at above or below atmospheric pressure, and the Phosgene is readily separated from the Solution of Polyisocyanate in the inert Solvent.
