Short Name: Pre-Heater
Description: The Charge (Crude Oil) can be fed to the Furnace directly from Storage Tanks at atmospheric temperature, but in most Plants, the Crude Oil passes through a series of Pre-Heaters that utilize the high temperatures of the Distillation Column Product Streams. The outlet temperature of the preheating Heat Exchangers can reach 280°C. Crude Oil runs through a series of Pre-Heaters bringing the temperature up to about 240°C before entering the Furnace.
