Description: In the Pygas Process, the Depentanizer is used in one of two positions: 1) As an upfront Unit to strip off the Raw C5 from the C5+ Cut, which is when the Diene-rich Raw C5 is sent to the CPD Dimerization Unit for Separation of Isoprene, 1,3-Pentadiene, and DCPD; 2) Following the Second Stage Pygas Hydrogenation, where the C5s Raffinate is stripped off from the C6-C8 Heart Cut, whereas the C5s Raffinate is typically returned as Feedstock to the Steam Cracker.
