- Description
- Perstorp (now Johnson Matthey) will be providing its technology for the Formaldehyde Plant to the Sadara project. The Plant will have an instantaneous design capacity of 130,000 tons per year. It will be fed by Methanol purchased from a third party. The Unit will produce a 45% solution of Formaldehyde that will be fed to the PMDI (in fact PMDA) plant. In our model, the Formox plant has a 140,000 metric ton capacity considering the demand of 45% Formalin for the required PMDA quantity. The Reaction yield estimate for the Conversion of Methanol into Formaldehyde is 95 weight-%.
