1️⃣ LyondellBasell is selling its four European sites: Berre, Münchsmünster, Carrington, and Tarragona via a deal with PE firm AEQUITA. CEO Peter Vanacker called it a necessary move for non-core assets, potentially signalling further European carve outs.

2️⃣ Syzygy Plasmonics (US clean energy firm) has awarded Kent the FEED contract for NovaSAF 1, the first electrified biogas to SAF plant. Located in Uruguay, it will convert biomethane and CO₂ into 350k gal/year of SAF, with production set for Q1 2027.

3️⃣ INERATEC has inaugurated Era One, Europe’s largest commercial eFuel plant, in Germany. It will produce up to 2 500 tonnes of carbon neutral eFuels annually.

4️⃣ The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has cancelled $3.7 billion in clean energy awards, primarily for carbon capture and decarbonization projects, citing lack of economic viability and poor returns for taxpayers.
5️⃣ The European Commission awarded nearly €1 billion to 15 hydrogen projects across Spain, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Norway. Uses include ammonia, methanol, marine and vehicle fuels, and pipeline injection.
6️⃣ Air Products has announced the 2.2GW NEOM Green Hydrogen Company green hydrogen/ammonia project in Saudi Arabia is 80% complete. Developed with ACWA Power and NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, it will be the world’s largest, with first ammonia production expected in 2027. Air Products, the sole offtaker, has yet to secure a long-term buyer.

7️⃣ The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects SAF output to double in 2025 to 2 million tons or 0.7% of global airline fuel use. Director General Willie Walsh warned progress is however too slow for 2050 net zero goals, with SAF adding over $4bn to airline fuel costs.
8️⃣ Lummus Technology and InnoVent Renewables have signed an MoU for the global licensing of InnoVent’s tire pyrolysis technology, which converts end of life tires into pyrolysis oil, gas, recycled carbon black, and steel.
