The Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) facility is the first greenfield LNG export terminal built in the United States in over 50 years, developed by Cheniere Energy on a site previously permitted for LNG regasification. The site was first announced for liquefaction development on December 16, 2011, received FERC authorization on December 30, 2014, and commenced first LNG production in November 2018.
