When started up in 1998 with a capacity of 250 kta, the Appryl PP CSTR was the largest PP reactor globally

Commissioned in September 1988, Appryl operates its own proprietary PP process — a continuous bulk-phase polymerisation technology — which has been expanded and debottlenecked several times since startup. Its annual nameplate production capacity is 300,000 tonnes of polypropylene. The process is claimed to be notably low in environmental impact, generating very low liquid and gaseous emissions by design.
