PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) is a major Indonesian company engaged in the petrochemical and energy sectors. Established on October 9, 1995, TPPI operates one of Indonesia’s most significant integrated refining and petrochemical complexes. The company’s core business involves the production of aromatic petrochemicals—primarily paraxylene, benzene, orthoxylene, and toluene—as well as petroleum products such as gasoline (Mogas 88/Premium, Mogas 92/Pertamax), diesel, light naphtha, and LPG.
TPPI plays a strategic role in Indonesia’s national energy and petrochemical supply chain, supporting both domestic industrial needs and the reduction of import dependency. The company is also a key subsidiary within the Tuban Petrochemical Industries (TubanPetro) group, which itself is majority owned by PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia’s state energy company.
The most recent publicly available information indicates that PT Pertamina (Persero) is the controlling shareholder of PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI), holding a majority stake. As of 2023–2024, Pertamina’s shareholding in TPPI stands at approximately 51%, reflecting its status as the main shareholder following a series of government-directed restructurings and capital injections in the Indonesian petrochemical sector.
