Description

NIORDC (Persian: شرکت ملی پالایش و پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی ایران) is Iran's state-owned downstream oil company, responsible for all crude oil refining, product transportation, and distribution activities across Iran.

Background & Purpose

NIORDC was established in March 1991 on the principle of separating Iran's upstream (exploration and production) from downstream (refining, transportation, distribution, import/export of petroleum products) activities. It is one of the four main subsidiary companies of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum, alongside NIOC, NIGC (gas), and NIOPDC (products distribution).

Scope of Operations

NIORDC monitors and manages the activities of 10 refining companies and fulfills its mission through four major operating subsidiaries and a network of pipelines, storage facilities, and distribution infrastructure:
