Introduction

With over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas and energy transition industry, I am a Sr. Principal Consultant, a leading provider of AI-driven industrial solutions. I am also a chartered engineer and a certified professional in process safety engineering, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and QRA from IChemE in UK.

My core competencies include developing and executing the company's business strategies, managing and leading the asset performance and asset integrity and risk management programs, providing strategic advice and roadmaps to the customers, and identifying and evaluating alternate process technologies using AI and ML. I have successfully delivered complex and innovative projects for worldwide energy players such as BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, Total, and Aramco, in various locations in USA, UK, UAE, KSA, Qatar, Egypt, Libya, and Iraq. My mission is to help the energy sector optimize their operations, reduce their emissions, and promote the hydrogen economy and CCUS.

My experience when it comes to refineries gained from and in different areas such as:

  • Process Safety Management: Extensive experience in apply PSM, quantitative methods to oil & gas facilities. Developed an Innovative technology in Dynamic HAZOP and QRA.
  • Oil Refineries Operation: working for a complex oil refinery as a secondee with TAKREER, in the technical services department.
  • Oil Refineries Studies: did large number of planning studies, feasibilities studies and conceptual studies for both greenfield and brownfield refinery projects (with UOP, Axens & WorleyParsons).
  • Oil Refineries Projects: did, FEED, Detailed and PMC for both greenfield and brownfield projects for oil refineries.
  • Oil Refineries Optimization and Operation Excellence: by applying the most advanced analytics solutions such as reactor assessment, Pre-heat train debottlenecking, Machine learning and Linear Programming for refinery planning.
  • Practical experience in process safety, risk assessment, ALARP demonstration, dynamic QRA, bow-tie, SIL determination, verification and automated HAZOP.
  • Ability to manage process teams in delivering front-end engineering, feasibility studies, FEED medium and large-size project for green and brown field.
  • Extensive experience in developing & reviewing PFD, PSD, P&IDs and process calculation for vessels, valves, PSVs, control valves pumps, column and compressor.
  • Extensive experience in hydraulic calculation for single phase and two-phase flow, detailed flow assurance studies and hydrate remediation strategies.
  • Hands-on experience in HYSYS optimization and PIMS for refinery process to perform a large-scale optimization study.
  • Practical experience in refinery hydrocracking, hydrotreating process engineering and process modeling and FCC debottlenecking and optimization.
  • Practical experience in surge pressure studies for pipelines, offshore FW and seawater systems.
  • Extensive and practical experience in dynamic modelling and process control assessment using HYSYS Dynamics, UniSim, PetroSim, OLGA and PIPENET Vision.
  • Hands-on experience in heat exchanger thermal design, rating, and optimization.
  • Practical experience in distillation column modeling, troubleshooting, column optimization and hydro-dynamic assessment.
  • Practical experience multi-product pipeline and interface management strategies via CFD.
  • Practical experience in Reservoir IPR and process optimization with surface facilities.
  • Modeling experience in gas processing including Gas Dehydration, Gas Sweetening, gas fractionation, TGTU and SRU

My Services

The following accomplishments serve as a testament to my professional expertise in Engineering and Advanced Analysis Services:

  1. PyRISK™ Machine Learning Solution: Spearheaded the development and successful implementation of PyRISK™, an innovative machine learning solution. This groundbreaking technology was employed to predict and manage risk factors for Geisum Offshore operations, collaborating closely with PetroGulf Misr and ExxonMobil's storage facilities.

  2. PyHAZOP™ Automation: Pioneered the creation of PyHAZOP™, an automated system designed specifically for conducting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies. This advanced tool greatly enhanced safety assessment processes for PetroGulf Misr.

  3. Dynamic Modeling Excellence: Undertook comprehensive dynamic modeling projects for PetroGulf's operating facilities, encompassing both offshore and onshore operations. These efforts significantly increased production capacity.

  4. Integrated Asset Model for TOTAL Qatar: Led the development of an Integrated Asset Model that seamlessly linked reservoir performance data with surface facility operations for TOTAL Qatar. This integration resulted in an impressive 66% reduction in capital expenditure (CAPEX).

  5. Recognition at OPTIMIZE 2019: Earned recognition from AspenTech and was selected to present on "The Frontier of Dynamic Nodal Analysis in Assessing Process Performance" at OPTIMIZE 2019, held in Houston, USA. This presentation showcased cutting-edge approaches in process analysis and performance assessment.

  6. Establishment of Qatar-Based Study Department: Established and led the establishment of a comprehensive study department specializing in Advanced Analysis within the oil and gas sector, serving the Middle East and North Africa regions under the umbrella of Worley and Advisian.

  7. Transformational Role at Dana Gas Egypt: Played a pivotal role in managing the Field Development Plan (FDP) for Dana Gas Egypt, with a substantial total value of $2.1 million. Leveraged HYSYS-VBA integration to conduct in-depth assessments of the entire production lifecycle, ultimately contributing to successful production expansion initiatives.
