Propylbenzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon with the formula C6H5C3H7.
The molecule consists of a propyl group attached to a phenyl ring.
Depending on the isomeric structure of the propyl group, propylbenzene exists in two forms:
- n-propylbenzene with a linear propyl group
- cumene (iso-propylbenzene) with an isopropyl (2-methylethyl) group
attached to the phenyl ring.
