Description

Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosine (HEFA-SPK) is a specific type of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel used in aviation. As of 2020 this is the only mature technology to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)[1].

HEFA-SPL is a complex combination of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range C8 to C18 and boiling in the range of 115°C to 300°C (including up to 1% total aromatics)[2].
