The Assaluyeh complex includes three main production units with significant annual capacity:​

• Olefin unit (ethane cracker): 1,100,000 tons/year of ethylene, using Technip technology and commissioned in 2007​
• LDPE unit: 375,000 tons/year of low-density polyethylene in 9 different grades, under license from SABTEC (formerly EstamiCarbon of the Netherlands), operational since 2008​
• MD/HDPE unit: 375,000 tons/year of medium- and high-density polyethylene in 10 different grades, under Basell (now LyondellBasell) technology from Germany​

The facility also includes storage units, off-site services, and propane recovery capacity of 103,500 tons/year. The complex began commercial operations in 2007 and employs approximately 950 direct employees plus around 1,500 contracted workers.
