- Description
-
Alterra Energy is the developer and operator of a continuous, thermochemical liquefaction process technology.
The best materials for the process are polyethylene and polypropylene, delivered in a shredded and dry state.
PVC and PET are not candidates for this process.
Preferred waste material is shredded/granulated to 2″ plastic piece size or smaller.
Chemistry must be such that the expected oil yield will be greater than 55%.
Waste will have a paper/cellulose component no greater than 20% – less is better.
Less moisture is better.Feedstock that is not ready for the process comprises:
- #1 PET
- #3 PVC or any Chlorinated Resin, Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE)
- Any Thermoset or Cross-Linked Polymers
- Any Fluoropolymers or Teflon
- Any Polyesters
- Chlorobutyl
- Fluoroelastomers
- Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber
- Nitrile Rubber, Nylon.
