Description

Nexus Circular is sourcing post-industrial or post-commercial feedstock in bales weighing from 800 to 1,500 pounds. The process utilizes 4 types of used plastics as pyrolysis feedstocks: ♴ HDPE, ♶ LDPE, ♷ PP and ♸ PS. PVC, PET and nr. 7 plastics are never used in the process. After receiving the used plastic, they are manually and automatically sorted on-site to remove unwanted materials (paper, metal, glass and other contaminants) and then feed directly to the reactors without additional pre-processing. The sorted plastics goes to a secondary shredder for size reduction into kind of fluffy mix. From there it is fed into a series of extruders that melt the plastic and pump it into the steered heating kettles, where the plastic breaks apart. The vapor that comes out is condensed into a heavier wax cut and a liquid oil fraction, which are put in large storage tanks. Gas is formed as well that is used to heat the reactors.
