Technip High Severity FCC (HS-FCC™) produces Petrochemical Products from VGO and Resid. The Process uses a Proprietary Rare Earth Catalyst, operates at High ROT (580-620 °C), with Ultra Short Contact Time (0.5-1 sec), High C/O Ratio (25-30) within a special Reaction System that also produces no Recycle. Typical Yields from Hydrotreated VGO are 2% Fuel Gas, 4% Ethylene, 6% Sta. C3/C4s, 20% Propylene, 16% C4=s, 33% Gasoline, 8% LCO, 5% Slurry, and 6% Coke.[1]

An alliance involving Saudi Aramco, ENEOS, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Technip Stone & Webster Process Technology and Axens Solutions has led to the development of the HS-FCC™ process which is able to produce up to 25 wt% propylene by converting heavy hydrocarbon feedstock under severe FCC conditions.[2]
