Dolomitic quicklime is produced by the calcination of dolomite (CaMg(CO₃)â‚‚) at temperatures above ~1,100°F (593°C), yielding a mixed calcium-magnesium oxide product (CaO·MgO) in which both oxides are present in near-equal proportions. It is classified as a mixture rather than a single compound, and is commercially registered under the calcium magnesium oxide CAS number.
