Description

Sabine Pass LNG, L.P. (SPLNG) is a Delaware limited partnership and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. (CQP). It owns and operates the regasification and storage infrastructure at the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal — the original import terminal facilities built prior to Cheniere's pivot to LNG exports. While the liquefaction and export operations are conducted by its affiliate Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC (SPL), SPLNG retains ownership of the terminal's import and storage assets, which continue to provide regasification services.

Assets & Specifications

SPLNG owns and operates the following regasification and storage assets at the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal:

  • 5 LNG storage tanks with aggregate capacity of ~16.9 Bcfe

  • Vaporizers with regasification capacity of ~4.0 Bcf/d

  • 3 marine berths, each capable of accommodating vessels up to 265,000 m³

  • Pipeline interconnections to major interstate gas pipelines

The terminal was originally completed in April 2008 as an LNG import terminal, and following the conversion decision in 2012, SPLNG's regasification facilities now serve a secondary role while the adjacent SPL liquefaction trains handle all export operations.
