Mitsui & Co. Cameron LNG Investment LLC is a U.S.-incorporated special purpose holding company established by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) as a wholly owned direct subsidiary to hold its 16.6% equity interest in Cameron LNG Holdings, LLC since 2014. Mitsui holds this vehicle directly from the Tokyo parent with no intermediate U.S. holding company in between — the LLC was created specifically for the Cameron LNG investment.

The operating and marketing activities on behalf of Mitsui at Cameron LNG are conducted not by this holding entity but by Mitsui & Co. Energy Marketing and Services (USA), Inc. (MEMS), a Houston-based subsidiary responsible for feedgas procurement, LNG marketing, and project coordination. Mitsui secured 20-year tolling capacity of 4 mtpa at Cameron LNG and markets the resulting LNG primarily to Japanese customers including Tokyo Electric Power Company, Toho Gas, Kansai Electric Power Company, and Tokyo Gas.
