Description

Jam Petrochemical Company (JPC) is one of Iran’s largest olefins and polyolefins producers, centered at the Jam Petrochemical Complex in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone at Assaluyeh, Bushehr province. Established on Aug 30, 2000 as part of the National Petrochemical Company’s South Pars downstream program, it was designed around a world‑scale ethane cracker, making it a flagship of Iran’s gas‑based petrochemical strategy.

Originally incorporated as a private joint stock company in August 2000, Jam Petrochemical was converted into a public joint stock company after a 15 September 2008 extraordinary general meeting, and today sits within the wider ecosystem of state‑linked investment funds and pension funds that dominate Iran’s petrochemical shareholding. The company also controls important downstream affiliates, including majority ownership of Jam Polypropylene and full ownership of Sanat‑Karan Jam and several logistics and industrial service subsidiaries, reinforcing its role as an integrated petrochemical platform rather than a single‑plant operator.

NPC/NIPC lists the following main shareholders for Jam Petrochemical Company on its active complexes page (data updated 2023):

  • Civil Retirement Investment Fund – 23.8%
  • National Pension Fund – 22.9%
  • Tamin Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Investment Co. (TOPIC / TAPPICO) – 15.7%
  • Justice Shares Broker Co. – 15.0%
  • Other shareholders – 22.6%
