Klesch Petroleum SA was incorporated in Switzerland on 16 September 2010 — coinciding with Klesch's acquisition of the Heide Refinery from Shell — and was previously registered under the name SOTASSA Trading and Refining SA before being rebranded. Its declared statutory purpose is to buy, sell, market, hold, and distribute petroleum and derived products in Switzerland and abroad. The company has a registered share capital of CHF 100,000.

Role within Klesch Group

Within the Group structure, Klesch Petroleum SA acts as the intermediate entity sitting between Klesch Group Limited (Malta) and the individual refinery subsidiaries — Raffinerie Heide GmbH and Kalundborg Refinery A/S. It manages the Group's entire supply chain: crude oil sourcing, derivative hedging, refining, and finished product marketing. The Group reported a €7 billion turnover in 2025 through its petroleum operations.
