Merichem Technologies, LLC is a Houston, Texas-based process technology and specialty chemicals company providing sulfur- and mercaptan-removal solutions to the oil & gas, refining, chemical/petrochemical and renewables sectors. The company was spun out of Merichem Company's technology business unit — comprising the former Merichem Process Technologies and Merichem Catalyst Products — following its acquisition by private equity firm Black Bay Energy Capital on January 3, 2024.[1] Merichem Company retained its separate caustic-services (beneficial reuse) business.[1]
Merichem Technologies holds the licensed technology brands LO-CAT®, FIBER FILM®, THIOLEX™, MERICAT™, MERICON™, plus a suite of proprietary chemical catalysts, continuing decades of sulfur-treatment track record built under the Merichem name.[1][3]
On April 24, 2024, Merichem Technologies acquired Chemical Products Industries, Inc. (CPI) (Oklahoma City), adding CPI's SULFURTRAP® adsorbent product line for sulfur removal in natural gas and biogas applications.[2]
Corporate Structure
