Sempra Infrastructure is the international energy infrastructure development and investment platform of Sempra (NYSE: SRE), established in November 2021 through the consolidation of Sempra LNG and Infraestructura Energética Nova S.A.P.I. de C.V. (IEnova), Sempra's Mexico-based energy infrastructure subsidiary. It was created to provide a larger, unified platform to develop and operate large-scale energy infrastructure across North America and global LNG markets, concentrating Sempra's non-utility international assets under a single management structure.
With approximately 2,300 employees, Sempra Infrastructure develops, builds, and operates energy infrastructure across three segments, LNG export and liquefaction, low carbon solutions, and energy networks in Mexico. In LNG specifically, it pursues a dual-coast strategy — operating Cameron LNG on the Gulf Coast and developing Port Arthur LNG (also Gulf Coast) alongside ECA LNG on the Pacific Coast of Baja California, Mexico.
Sempra Infrastructure is not a publicly listed company in its own right — it operates as a subsidiary of Sempra, though a minority interest has been sold to institutional co-investors, with KKR and ADIA (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority) each holding minority stakes as part of Sempra's capital recycling strategy.
