Mexichem Derivados S.A. de C.V. is the primary chlor-vinyl chemical manufacturing subsidiary of Orbia (formerly Mexichem S.A.B. de C.V.), tracing its origins to 1976 when it was established as Industrial Química Pennwalt. It manufactures and markets chemicals across the full chlorine and vinyl chain — from chlor-alkali through to PVC resins and compounds — and is the operating entity behind Orbia's Polymer Solutions segment in Mexico.

Mexichem Derivados was acquired by GICSA (predecessor of Mexichem) in 1997 when it obtained 50.4% of Química Pennwalt, which produced chlorine, caustic soda, HCl, PVC resins and compounds. Full control was subsequently achieved. The entity retained its legal name after the parent rebranded to Orbia in 2019.
